PRECISION WATER TREATMENT SOLUTIONS

Patented and patent pending processes available through Blue Sky Water Technologies provide viable economic and environmental solutions for the myriad of problems associated with acid mine drainage.

The Ionic State Modification Process (ISM) successfully removed the high concentrations of heavy metals to below detectable limits from acid mine drainage generated at the Iron Mountain Mine in northern California.

Similar results were attained from exhaustive tests conducted on AMD from the Berkeley Pit in Butte, Montana. The Butte tests were funded through EPA's New Innovative Technology Program. In each instance, metals extracted during the process may have recyclable value.

The process at some sites also produces a pure calcium sulfate with a unique crystalline and molecular structure void of any heavy metal contamination that has value as an agricultural soil additive. An extremely innovative feature of the process is its ability to generate a majority of the required raw material treatment additive directly from the influent waste stream. In other words, it extracts compounds from the AMD that are re-injected to perpetuate the metal separation process.

Most importantly, the process produces clean, pure water from the acid influent that can be returned to lakes or streams without fear of contamination to the surrounding environment.
